We talk about hempcrete in such a way because concrete is the combination of a binder, an aggregate and water.
In our case the binder is lime and the aggregate is hemp.
This non-structural concrete serves as an insulating envelope for new builds and renovations.
This insulation, mechanically sprayed as a filling and/or lining, has multiple functions.
The use of Hemp-Lime makes it possible to do away with the multitude of plastic membranes traditionally used in modern construction.
Les Applications
Les applications du béton de chanvre sont multiples :
Toitures, Planchers, Murs et des Dallages
Le béton chanvre est un matériaux perspirant offrant une excellente régulation hygro - thermique.
De plus, du fait de sa densité, il permet aux usagers de profiter d’une sensation de confort aussi bien en été (déphasage) qu’en hiver (isolation thermique).
En jouant simplement sur la quantité de liant dans le béton de chanvre, nous pouvons moduler et adapter son utilisation : thermique, acoustique-phonique, inertie.
Neuf
Dans le cadre d’une construction neuve en béton de chanvre, nous ne parlons pas d’isolation par l’intérieur ou par l’extérieur mais d’une construction « monolithique » en béton de chanvre.
Le béton de chanvre projeté vient noyer l’ossature structurelle ce qui permet de créer une isolation optimale, sans pont thermique.
Pour une bonne performance nous conseillons une épaisseur de 33cm en mur et 40cm en toiture.
Dans la plus part des cas, le béton chanvre est projeté par l’extérieur contre un canisse (ou fermacel) servant de coffrage et de support d’enduit intérieur.
En extérieur, exposé aux intempéries, le béton chanvre pourra être recouvert d’un enduit résistant ou habillé d’un bardage bois.
Renovation
Dans le cadre d’une rénovation globale, le béton chaux chanvre est LA meilleure solution pour l’isolation en respectant le bâti ancien: Perspirant, excellent régulateur hygrothermique tout en améliorant le confort de vie aves des murs en pierre ou pisé (supprimant le parois froid) sans coupant le déphasage.
Ce matériau répond aux exigences simples et endémiques du vieux bâti qui doit « respirer ».
L’utilisation de ce matériau pour la réalisation d’une isolation extérieure n’est pas pertinente car le béton-chanvre se doit, de par ses propriétés intrinsèques, d'être en interaction avec le vivant, afin d’être utile pour l’usager grâce à ses propriétés incroyables - De plus, une isolation par l’extérieur supprime souvent tout charme et caractère à un bâtiment ancien possédant un certain cachet.
Pour un réel gain de confort hygrothermique, nous conseillons la projection de 8 à 15cm de béton chanvre en intérieur.

Not allowed: All resin based products, cement or any other "miracle" materials, which are not suited to the incredibly breathability of hemp-lime and risk compromising its technical properties, in particular hygrometric regulation.
